A pic would help but I'm pretty sure cutting 2 inches from the legs will not weaken the bench any.

  • Hi Everyone,

I'm just starting this course and need to make the Workbench 2" shorter that it is in the schematics. (I'm only 5' tall.)

After looking through the plans I was thinking a good place to lose 2" is the bottom of the legs that stick out past the bottom frame. (The section that the casters attach to.)

I know that will lower the frame, but it will also NOT reduce my storage room. And the casters themselves will lift that frame off the ground by 2" anyway.

But I'm no structural engineer. Any ideas if this is OK to do?

    Thank you for your help.
